Hi, good... but not yet very good !
I suspect a problem of numerical accuracy with such high values of X and Y coordinates.
You can test this hypothesis by subtracting the mean of X and Y coordinates to have 0 centered data...
If it's true, it should be better to correct the algorithm, I know...

Dear Glenn and Dominique,
Thanks a lot for your help. Indeed the keyword scalco=-10000 was guilty for scaling sx,sy,gx and gy coordinates. So now I am able to produce an su file with cdp headers.
But now unfortunately I found another problem. The su file with cdp headers has about 66% of cdp=0. The cdp=0 traces are at the "beginning" of the su file.
And the intriguing aspect is that I have a crooked line with 10 points. See the attached map. There the black dots are the source coordinates, the red dots are the receiver coordinates and the green circles are the points of the crooked line.
As you can guess I smoothed both the source and receiver coordinates using the GMT trend1d command.
The command line for my binning looks like this:
*sucdpbin xline=723193.2,744776.011111,766358.822222,787941.633333,809524.444444,831107.255556,852690.066667,874272.877778,895855.688889,920934 \ yline=7242472.4,7242099.3532,7241693.29184,7241254.1793,7240782.11164,7240277.08676,7239739.07882,7239168.07407,7238564.07513,7237820 \ < SO104-17_geom.su verbose=2 dcdp=25 cdpmin=1 distmax=100 > SO104-17_geom-cmp.su
See below the ranges of the file SO104-17_geom-cmp.su and the attached log file with the verbosity of the sucdpbin command.
I tried also with distmax less than 100m, the smallest value being 15m, but the result was similar.
Any idea on what is going on?
Best wishes

Hi Juan, after a quick look at sucdpbin.c, i note that this tools honors the scalco keyword. So, since your data bear a -10000 scalco, you have to divide xline and yline parameters by 10000 to work with actual units, not with sx and sy units. Let me know it it works Good luck ! D. Dear SU users, I am trying to make the CMP binning of a seismic line (see the headers ranges below). The command line is: *sucdpbin < so104-17_geom.su <http://so104-17_geom.su> xline=723715,920883 yline=7242464,7237825 verbose=2 dcdp=25 distmax=500 > so104-17_cdp.su <http://so104-17_cdp.su>* As you see I have used a distmax of 500m and still I am not able to get the binning. Just in case I also tried again the same command, but sorting the date so that the first traces in the su file correspond to the minimum x coordinate and the last traces to the maximum coordinate (in the field the line was shot from east to west), but it failed as well. Any help would be very much appreciated.
