Dear all, I am trying to open a 12Gb byte sgy/su file using seismic unix, and I get the below error message. /home/subbarao/SU43R3/bin/ximage: ealloc.c: malloc failed (Cannot allocate memory) Is there a file size limitation in SU? or is the error related to display or something? Do I need to change any settings? Thank you and look forward to your early response. Dear Sirs, I have some scanned seismic image I am converting in segy data format. Having all sections the same number of time sample and the same sample interval, but of course different trace number, I need to have only one segy. May I apply a command like: cat section1.su section2.su section.su > onesection.su If it is possible, then I need to renumber the trace number and I think to use sushw module but I do not find which is the key word to renumber the trace number. I need to use CSM program seaview to display f-k plots and I have various questions related to seaview. I will appreciate your answers on them. - current palettes (map) for variable intensity plot sub option of display option of seaview are very limited. - is it possible to build and install new palettes. If so how? - if yes, does anyone have aleady built better palettes(maps)? - Is it possible to change vertical plot label from "Time(seconds)" to "Frequency(Hertz)". İf yes., how? - when trace samples really show frequencies instead of time samples (as in f-k plot) using actual frequency interval (eg 0.115 Hz) makes highest frequency to show like 0.125 ms or 0.250 ms. I would have preferred 125ms and 250ms (although I would prefer 125Hz and 250Hz) but using 1000 times frequecy increment is creating problems in binary header value in microsecond with seaview (ıt shows as a negative value). This must be a bug in seaview. Do any of you have a similar experience? Doubly defined global variable

Both objects are combined to build libsu.a. After a little googling, I found out that gcc 10.2 set -fnocommon as default now. So, adding -fcommon in Makefile.config fix the issue, but perhaps a better fix would be to place an extern across the multiple definitions of tr. Kind regards, R.Biloti Applied Math. Hi, depends on how many tape devices you have ! Generally seismic tapes are record oriented, is bloack may have differents length. If you have 2 tape devices, tcopy is useful. If not, you'll have to make a disk-copy, and then restore disk-copy to tape in the original set. You'll have to know the structure of the tape (ie length of each block). Using these informations you may use dd, or another program to copy to/from disk that take length into account. There are 2 seismic formats that could deal with this: SEG-RODE TIF, tape interchange Format. Hello, Is the sudeghost module created solely for receiver de-ghosting or is it possible to apply a second pass of source de-ghosting setting h=source depth? I tried this but the resultant stack looked to add back data on the second pass when I set h=source depth. So I am unsure if the sudeghost module can deal with both receiver and source de-ghosting, or if there is a way or sequence to apply it correctly. Best regards, Mark
